Denis Seletskiy joins with NSF grant

Denis Seletskiy has joined our research team after receiving a Research Fellowship Grant entitled ”Ultrafast Spectroscopy of Urbach Tail Excitations in Semiconductors: Unraveling Dynamics of the Anti-Stokes Cooling Cycle“ by the National Science Foundation (NSF) of the United States of America. The study will explore quantum kinetic aspects of real and virtual sub-bandgap excitations in bulk and mesoscopic condensed-matter structures, with special emphasis on semiconductor quantum dots. For the first time, laser cooling of the electronic and lattice degrees of freedom in these systems will be investigated on the femtosecond time scale. More information can be found on the NSF announcement page (Link).

Denis will also be leading a group working on ultraprecision metrology based on femtosecond and terahertz technologies, as well as quantum photonics with few-fermion nanosystems on molecular timescales.
